Position Purpose
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial health of our clients by managing day-to-day accounting activities. You’ll handle everything from maintaining general ledgers and reconciling accounts to preparing payroll and generating detailed financial reports. Your accuracy and attention to detail will help us deliver top-tier service that our clients can count on.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledgers by recording, verifying, and reconciling transactions
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, payroll, A/R, A/P, GST, and ROE preparation
- Manage bookkeeping for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with GAAP and identifying/reporting discrepancies
- Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with quarterly and annual reporting
- Perform expense tracking and ensure alignment with budgets and accounting standards
- Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll and source deduction remittances
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline is an asset
- Payroll certification is an asset
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero)
- Strong knowledge of payroll standards for both Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in client-facing roles
