About the Role
As a Bookkeeper, you will manage a portfolio of owner-managed business clients across a variety of industries.
You will work closely with clients and team members to provide accurate, timely, and proactive bookkeeping support while delivering an exceptional client experience.
Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- GST preparation and filing
- Payroll processing, source deductions, ROEs, and payroll reporting
- Preparation of T4s and other year-end filings
- WCB reporting and administration
- Financial record maintenance and reporting
- Supporting clients with bookkeeping software and day-to-day inquiries
- Collaborating with accountants and advisors to ensure seamless client service
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through process improvement, automation, and technology
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience in a public practice accounting firm
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, GST, and accounting principles
- Experience managing multiple clients and competing deadlines
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Client-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Technical Experience
Experience with the following is considered an asset:
- QuickBooks Online
- Sage Accounting
- Microsoft 365
- Cloud-based accounting and payroll applications
- Experience working in a technology-enabled environment
