Administrative Assistant (18 Month Maternity Leave)

Description

EBT Chartered Professional Accountants is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our Swift Current office for a maternity leave fill; however, this position may turn into a permanent full-time role for the right person.

EBT is a full-service accounting firm with locations in Medicine Hat (Head office) and Swift Current. With over 45 years in public accounting, EBT has built a strong reputation for exceptional client service and steady growth. We provide a comprehensive range of bookkeeping, accounting, taxation, and advisory services to meet both personal and business client needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet clients and visitors professionally, ensuring a welcoming first impression.
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls or emails promptly and courteously.
  • Schedule client meetings, coordinate boardrooms, and prepare refreshments when needed.
  • If required, handle weekly deposits as instructed.
  • Maintain a tidy and professional reception and common area.
  • Print and assemble tax packages, obtain signatures, manage e-file authorizations, and track client drop-offs and pickups.
  • Physical and digital filing and mailing.
  • Support HR with staff events or firm initiatives
  • This role could include helping with new workstation setups and providing general assistance to the IT team as needed.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates self-confidence and maturity
  • Effective and advanced communication and client relations skills
  • Time management & task prioritization – ability to manage multiple deadlines, determine priority and get tasks completed.
  • Proficient in Adobe PDF and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
  • Ability to quickly learn additional software programs is essential.
  • Additional administrative tasks will be assigned as the role permits.
  • You must be able to work Monday through Friday 40+ hours per week.

Education and Experience:
  •  Minimum 2 years of reception/clerical experience in a similar or related office environment
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Business experience in a public accounting firm is consider
