Careers at EBT

Bookkeeper - Swift Current Office

Description

Join the EBT Family in Swift Current!

EBT has been proudly serving clients for over 50 years — and while we take our work seriously, we definitely don’t take ourselves too seriously. With offices in Medicine Hat and Swift Current, we’re a full‑service public practice accounting firm built on collaboration, curiosity, and a genuine love for helping people succeed.

We’re growing fast (almost doubling in size over the last five years!), and we’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our Swift Current team. If you’re someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys variety, and loves being part of a supportive, close‑knit group, you’ll fit right in here.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Bookkeeper at EBT, you’ll be one of the heroes behind the scenes — keeping our clients organized, informed, and confident in their financial picture. Your days will include:

  • Keeping general ledgers accurate and up to date
  • Full‑cycle bookkeeping: bank recs, payroll, A/R, A/P, GST, ROEs — the whole package
  • Supporting multiple clients and spotting discrepancies before they become problems
  • Preparing monthly financial statements and helping with quarterly/annual reporting
  • Tracking expenses and ensuring everything lines up with budgets and standards
  • Running weekly, bi‑weekly, and monthly payroll and remittances

If you love variety and enjoy being the steady hand clients rely on, this role is for you.

What You Bring

  • A diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (an asset, not a deal‑breaker)
  • Payroll certification (also an asset) experience is good too
  • At least 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Comfort with accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
  • Strong payroll knowledge for both Alberta and Saskatchewan
  • Great communication skills and confidence working directly with clients

What You’ll Love About Working at EBT

We’re proud of the culture we’ve built — supportive, flexible, and genuinely people‑first. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Onsite Parking
  • Comprehensive group benefits
  • RRSP matching
  • Paid professional development
  • Flexible work hours and paid vacation
  • Paid overtime with the option to bank hours
  • Career growth through mentorship and internal development
  • A collaborative team that actually enjoys working together

If you’re looking for a place where your work matters, your team has your back, and your career can grow, we’d love to meet you. Come be part of the EBT story — we’re excited to see what you’ll bring to the team.
